The New York Military Affairs Symposium continues its Friday lecture series with online offerings. Click here for topics, times and Zoom links. Most lectures are Fridays at 7:00 P.M., but please check their listing to confirm the day and time of any lectures you plan to attend.
The New York Military Affairs Symposium also offers a full library of prerecorded talks online, including past Friday Evening Talks. Recordings of other free and public talks can be accessed here. MUSEUM exhibits
The New York Council Navy League is a great supporter of the U.S. Coast Guard, helping to ensure they continue to be the world’s best Coast Guard. In an effort to see the Coast Guard join the Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Air Force with a National Museum to call their own, we are proud to be part of the effort to build a National Coast Guard Museum in New London, CT. Materialized Space: The Architecture of Paul Rudolph is the first comprehensive retrospective on architect Paul Rudolph, an icon of modernism and brutalism, and a WWII veteran of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The exhibit will run thru March 16, 2025 at The Met. Click here for tickets and information.

You can find them this holiday season from November 30–December 8 at Grand Central Terminal’s Made in NYC Holiday Market and on December 7 and 8 at the Wallabout Wonderland Holiday Market at Brooklyn Navy Yard Building 293, one of NYC’s largest holiday markets.
Have a passion for fly fishing or looking for a new, relaxing hobby with a dedicated community? Then Project Healing Waters is for you. From virtual fly-tying classes to in-person fly fishing outings, Project Healing Waters creates a community for Veterans with no barrier to entry —providing all materials (and transportation if needed) for new members. If you're interested in joining, please email the Program Lead Ira (ira.krell@gmail.com) and he can set you up with the next meeting.
The National Lighthouse Museum is located on Staten Island, steps from the St. George Ferry Terminal and regularly hosts special exhibits and events highlighting not only lighthouses and lightkeepers, but broader maritime topics as well. Click here to explore their upcoming events.
NYC Department of Parks & Recreation has a full schedule of volunteer opportunities and other events, including “It’s My Park” beautification and clean-up projects throughout the city. Daughters of the Cincinnati offers four-year college scholarships available to daughters of career commissioned officers in all the United States armed services. Their scholars are selected on the basis of academic achievement and excellence in extracurricular activities.
