Fleet Week New York — the treasured celebration honoring our nation’s sea services — is here through May 28. With the return of some fan favorites and some exciting new initiatives, there is something for everyone to get into the Fleet Week spirit on our roster of events.

VIP SHIP TOURS
New York Council members and friends are invited to sign up online for pre-arranged tours of the various ships visiting this year, or send an email with attendee names and desired ships to kverna@nynavyleague.org.
Each tour is limited to 20 people and children must be nine or older. Please note: times may be changed by the Navy.

An Insider’s View of Women in the Military
The New York Council and the NYU Women’s Initiative are once again co-hosting a panel and reception with female officers and senior enlisted personnel, allowing guests an intimate look into the experience of women in our sea services. This is a free event and will especially be of interest to students and young adults considering a career in the sea services and their parents. This year’s panel will be held at the NYU Gould Welcome Center at 50 W. 4th St.

CPO/Staff NCO Dinner Cruise
The New York Council is once again hosting Chiefs and Staff NCOs for a harbor cruise. Our E7 and above guests aboard the Hornblower Serenity will enjoy a buffet dinner, beverages, DJ and fabulous city views during their evening of fun on the water.

Richard and Doris Scheuing CO/XO WELCOME Reception
The marquee New York Council event of Fleet Week welcomes Flag, Commanding and Executive Officers from all the participating commands to mingle with our members and friends at the New York Athletic Club over heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar and the music of the Navy Band. Special guests from HII will be on hand to honors Ingalls-built USS Bataan, and the Council will present the inaugural SEA Service Award.

ADVENTUROUS SEAS: DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONE-SHOT EVENT
Sea service members and New York Council members alike are invited to come together for an afternoon of fantasy and adventure as we introduce our first Fleet Week-themed Dungeons & Dragons one-shot event. Whether you have years of experience or just a desire for a fun afternoon of refreshments while learning a new game, our dungeon masters are ready to lead you in a few hours of tabletop roleplaying fun at The Brazen Tavern, 356 W 44th St.

Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers, and include dice, hors d’oeuvres and open bar. Register now as spots are limited.

Come out to see Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard helicopters land at Cricket Field 11, near parking lot 2, and meet the flight crews. Event will also have an EOD fast rope demonstration, performances by Navy Band Northeast and Navy Ceremonial Guard, and military displays to view.

Maspeth Memorial Day Parade

The United Veterans and Fraternal Organizations of Maspeth hosts an annual community parade to recognize service members. This year’s theme is: “The Leaders of the Future”. Service members will walk in the parade and participate in small ceremony.
Forest Hills Memorial Day Weekend Parade – American Legion Post 1424

The Forest Hills American Legion hosts an annual Memorial Day Weekend Parade to recognize the sacrifice of fallen military members and celebrate local community heroes. Service members will walk in the parade from the American Legion Post to Colonel Remsen Cemetery on Metropolitan Avenue; March kicks off in front of the Post building.
Fleet Week at Liberty State Park

Navy and Marine Corps helicopters will land for festivities at Liberty State Park. Come and meet the flight crews, interact with military displays (including the Navy Dive Tank), and enjoy youth activities through Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs. There will also be performances by Navy Band Northeast, Coast Guard Silent Drill Team, and Marine Corps Band.
