The wreath laying ceremony honored sailors from the #WWI era French Navy and U.K.'s Royal Navy who passed away while serving in NY. Also honored were double Medal of Honor recipients Navy Coxswain John Cooper and legendary Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Dan Daly.
After a greeting and historical perspective by The US World War One Centennial Commissioner Dr. Libby O'Connell, Rear Adm. Charles Rock, Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic addressed guests and other speakers including representatives from the US Navy, the US Marine Corps, the Consulate of France, and the Consulate of the United Kingdom.
