We are a citizen-led military support organization founded in 1902 to support the sea services — U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine. The New York Council was the first council established and is now one of the largest and most active of the Navy League of the United States councils. Many New Yorkers and Sailors know us as one of the founders of Fleet Week New York.
Is youth leadership development important to you?
NYC’s newest Sea Cadet unit — the LT Harriet I. Pickens Division — is ready to join our three other adopted USNSCC units in supporting youth leadership development, but they need your help. Adult volunteers are needed behind the scenes and at drills every other Saturday starting March 15. New volunteers are also needed for the Empire State Division, which drills at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. If you’d like to learn more, contact the New York Council office at info@nynavyleague.org.
