On Saturday, September 22, the USS New York arrived in Staten Island to visit her namesake city. Upon the ships arrival, New York Council, Navy League awaited to welcome the ship and her crew to New York City, where they were greeted by Commander Master Chief Ben Hodges and Captain Brent DeVore.

During her stay, the USS New York was open to Navy League members for VIP Tours.
